Scientific Photographer

This position will be in the Engineering Operations and Development Branch and will provide photographic instrumentation support for Ordnance Test and Evaluation tests, operations, and facilities. Primary charter of position is to plan for, set up, collect, and process imagery data for energetics testing. Candidate will complete customer data packages, which may include editing HD videos, high speed video, composite videos, processed test data, and annotated still documentary photography through Adobe Photoshop. Candidate must possess experience with Photron, Phantom, and IDT high speed digital video camera systems and their associated software as well as experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier, Final Cut Pro, and Davinci video editing software is highly desirable.

Ophthalmic Photographer/Technician
National Institutes of Health – Bethesda, MD

The NEI Eye Clinic on the main campus of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD hs a contract position for an ophthalmic photographer/technician with at least 2 years of experience in the field. This temporary ophthalmic photographer would perform color fundus photography (CFP), fundus autofluorescence (FAF), and spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT). If appropriately trained and skilled, this ophthalmic photographer may also do fluorescein and/or indocyanine green angiograms and slit lamp photography. The initial base period is for three months with 3-month option periods added, if the NEI deems it necessary.

IT Project Manager for Mass Digitization

This position is located in the Digitization Program Office (DPO) with the goal of creating a vibrant digitization culture at the Smithsonian, and focuses on increasing the quality and quantity of enterprise wide Smithsonian digital assets by supporting digitization projects. Uses digital equipment, programs and software to create digital images of museum collections in a cultural heritage or scientific collections environment. This includes digital cameras (SLRs, medium format, etc.), flatbed and overhead scanners, photo stands, advanced continuous and strobe lighting environments.

Biomedical Photographer (part time)
University of Massachusetts – Worcester, MA

We are seeking a technically oriented individual to take responsibility for day-to-day operation of our light microscopy imaging core facility on a part time basis. Current instruments include an OMX V4 super-resolution microscope, Nikon A1 confocal microscope, and custom built multiphoton microscope, an Olympus TIRF system, and a number of semi-automated bright field microscopes. Responsibilities include training new users, qualifying users to operate instruments independently, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting problems reported by users, performing repairs where possible (e.g. laser module replacement), and scheduling service/repairs with manufacturers as required. Extensive microscopy experience, while desirable, is not essential. Good computer skills, organizational skills, facility with one-on one training, and technical literacy and an interest in instrumentation are essential. A foundation in biology is a plus.
