The BCATalk Email Listserv

BCA hosts a listserv open to members and non-members to exchange information on techniques, products, and general networking. Anyone can subscribe to the listserv directly from their own computer by use of a simple command, as shown below. Anyone interested in the profession of biocommunications in the fields of medical, scientific, or forensic imaging technologies who need or have skills in photography, videography, illustration, computer graphics or other related fields is invited to join us and actively participate. Subscribers can post messages to the listserv by sending an e-mail to bcatalk@bca.org.

	TO SUBSCRIBE TO BCATALK STEP 1: Send an email message (important: this needs to be done from the computer that has the subscriber's settings recorded in preferences area of the software... in other words; from the computer where they plan to receive BCATalk messages) to: imailsrv@bca.org

	STEP 2: In the body of the message (Not in the "subject" line. The subject line should be left blank!) place the following: SUBSCRIBE BCATALK yourfirstname yourlastname For example: SUBSCRIBE BCATALK Jane Smith. If your name is not listed after your email address the request will not be processed.

	STEP 3: Click on send. If you were successful in typing the correct command, you will receive an automatic message (usually within a few minutes) welcoming you to BCATalk and giving you instructions on how to send messages to those who are subscribed.

TO REMOVE YOURSELF FROM BCATALK: Follow STEP 1 above from the computer where you subscribed and place the following in the body of your message... UNSUBSCRIBE BCATALK (In the event you no longer have access to the computer where you subscribed, send an email to listadmin@bca.org referencing the email address you would like removed from the listserv.)

TO SET DIGEST MODE: Follow Step 1 above then in the body of the message (Not in the "subject" line. The subject line should be left blank!) place the following:
Set Mode Digest BCATALK
Digest mode subscribers will receive one e-mail with all the postings of the day to BCAtalk. If there are no postings no e-mail will be sent. You must be a subscriber before you can set the mode to Digest.

BCA Members can also search messages previously posted to BCATalk by searching the listserv archive.

TO SEARCH THE BCATALK ARCHIVE:

Log into the Members Only area.
Choose BCATalk Archive Search.
Enter the appropriate information to search by date(s), message sender, message subject, or keyword or phrase contained in the message body.

By providing open enrollment to this listserv, it is hoped that our discussions relevant to the profession of biocommunications will extend beyond the current BCA membership. We encourage all new subscribers to BCATALK to consider joining our association and strengthening our profession by doing so.
