BCA hosts an email listserv that is open to members and non-members to exchange information on techniques, products, and general networking. Anyone interested in the profession of biocommunications in the fields of medical, scientific, or forensic imaging technologies who need or have skills in photography, videography, illustration, computer graphics or other related fields is invited to join us and actively participate.

By providing open enrollment to this listserv, it is hoped that our discussions relevant to the profession of biocommunications will extend beyond the current BCA membership. We encourage all new subscribers to BCAtalk to consider joining our association and strengthening our profession by doing so.

Anyone can subscribe to BCAtalk by use of a simple command as shown below.

Only subscribers can post messages to the listserv by sending an e-mail to bcatalk@bca.org.

How To Subscribe

STEP 1:
Send an email message to: imailsrv@bca.org.

STEP 2:
In the body of the message (Not in the subject line. The subject line should be left blank!) place the following:

SUBSCRIBE BCATALK yourfirstname yourlastname

For example: SUBSCRIBE BCATALK Jane Smith. If your name is not listed after your email address the request will not be processed.

STEP 3:
Send the email.

If you were successful in typing the correct command, you will receive an automatic message (usually within a few minutes) welcoming you to BCAtalk and giving you instructions on how to send messages to those who are subscribed.

How To Unsubscribe

STEP 1:
Send an email message to: imailsrv@bca.org.

STEP 2:
In the body of the message (Not in the subject line. The subject line should be left blank!) place the following:

UNSUBSCRIBE BCATALK

Your name is not necessary to unsubscribe.

STEP 3:
Send the email.

If you were successful in typing the correct command, you will receive an automatic message (usually within a few minutes) notifying you of the successful completion of unsubscribing from BCAtalk.

In the event you no longer have access to the email account from which you are subscribed, send an email to listadmin@bca.org referencing the old email address that you would like removed.

How to Set BCAtalk to Digest Mode

Digest mode subscribers will receive one e-mail with all the postings of the day to BCAtalk. If there are no postings no e-mail will be sent. You must be a subscriber before you can set the mode to digest.

STEP 1:
Send an email message to: imailsrv@bca.org.

STEP 2:
In the body of the message (Not in the subject line. The subject line should be left blank!) place the following:

Set Mode Digest BCATALK

Your name is not necessary.

STEP 3:
Send the email.

If you were successful in typing the correct command, you will receive an automatic message (usually within a few minutes) notifying you of the successful completion of setting BCAtalk to digest mode.

Search BCAtalk

BCA members can also search messages previously posted to BCAtalk by searching the listserv archive.

To search the BCAtalk archive, login to the Members Only area and click on BCAtalk Archive Search. Then enter the appropriate information to search by date(s), message sender, message subject, or keyword or phrase contained in the message body.
